Kubernetes 1.24: Structured Logs for Enhanced Clarity

On September 26, 2023, nearly 50 contributors gathered for the Kubernetes Contributor Summit in Shanghai, as part of the KubeCon + CloudNativeCon + Open Source Summit China 2023.

This was the first in-person meeting in China after three years of the pandemic.
The event kicked off with welcome speeches from Kevin Wang of Huawei Cloud, one of the co-chairs of KubeCon, and Puja from Giant Swarm.
After the opening speeches, the contributors briefly introduced themselves. Most attendees were from China, while some had traveled specifically from Europe and the United States for the conference. Technical experts from companies like Microsoft, Intel, and Huawei, as well as emerging forces like DaoCloud, were also present. Laughter and cheerful voices filled the room, whether English was spoken with a European or American accent or conversations were held in authentic Chinese. This atmosphere of comfort, joy, respect, and anticipation characterized the gathering. Previous contributions brought everyone closer together, and mutual recognition and achievements made this offline meeting possible.

The contributors present were no longer just GitHub IDs; they transformed into vibrant faces. From sitting together and capturing group photos to trying to identify “who is who?”, a loosely connected collective emerged. This team structure, though loosely linked and freedom-loving, was established to pursue shared dreams.
As the saying goes: “You reap what you sow.” Every effort was meticulously documented within the Kubernetes community. Regardless of the passage of time, the community will not erase these shining traces. Brilliance is found in your PRs, issues, or comments. It also appears in the smiling faces captured in meetup photos or in stories shared among contributors.
At ayedo, we support companies in making the most of Kubernetes and fostering such inspiring gatherings.
